Teacher's Lounge

Space sciences and space exploration are not topics limited to the science classroom. Exploration shapes our common history, literature, technology and cultural lenses in our human experience. May this website serve as a place to inspire not only your students, but yourselves. The best teachers are those that lead by example. Show a love for learning and the students will follow.

There are many websites devoted to space exploration and space sciences. It is difficult for a teacher to survey them all. Therefore this website has two main goals: 1) educate teachers about available on line resources for the topics of science and exploration in general. 2) later on it will serve as an information depot pertaining to the topics introduced in the book series "Letters To Jara" by T. Longazo. This book series contains a slew of web activities and links that further dive into the topics brought up in the books. Most of these topics are related to Mars.

Useful NASA Resources
NASA has over 12 national centers. Each space center specializes in either space exploration, aeronautics, human space flight, advanced technologies, robotics, imaging, etc. The NASA Office of Space Sciences (OSS) has the best array of Mars Exploration Program (MEP) activities, which is commonly known as Mars Education and Public Outreach or Mars E/PO.  Also, within the NASA OSS is Astrobiology E/PO. Astrobiology is new space science. It combines all physical and biological sciences and new biotechnologies being applied to space exploration.
